Hi readers and guests from the outside world!

My greatest apologies for not having kept up with my blog. School and work have been keeping me busy, but that doesn't mean I don't have fun things to write about! So far I have two posts in mind to write about, I just need to sit down and get them on paper (or on my computer).

It's weird how I've grown eager to write on my blog. Im always looking forward to sharing my next adventure with you readers (even if it may be a handful of you, you're amazing!). I'm hoping I can get a post out tonight if not early morning tomorrow. I'll keep you all updated via Twitter (@E_Rod826).

I can't wait for you all to read my next post!

Xo,
Elizabeth

Best. Day. Ever.

*Disclaimer, this post was written on an iPhone. Please excuse any typos, abbreviations, or crazy formats.*

Hello lads and ladies!

It's been faaaaaaaaaar too long since my last blog post (insert sad face here). October has been just an insanely busy month for me, from preparing to graduate in the spring (yay!), to being cast in a small, private play (yay!), handling to jobs (whoa!), shopping (duh!), and playing dress up (oh yeah!)!

Today's post I'm focusing solely on the dressing up part, because tomorrow is Halloween! 🎃 As a performer, I love to dress up. Go BIG or go home, right?! Well, I of course went as big as a college student budget could allow me. It took a whole year to prepare, but I think the results were totally worth it.

Back in July, I made the ~burning whole in my wallet~ to purchase four wigs from an etsy shop. These four wigs included: Snow White, Merida, Rapunzel, and Belle. (Heads up, no makeup shots coming your way.)

                     Snow White
                   Rapunzel
                     Merida
[Belle not pictured because she hasn't arrived yet.]
If one hasn't figured it out by now from looking at my blog or other social media accounts, I love all things Disney!

For my school annual Halloween festival, I decided to dress up as on favorite non-red headed princess, Rapunzel.

Everyone loved it, or secretly hated it, but who cares! I WAS SO HAPPY! So many parents and children were blown away by the costume and wig, *the wiiiig*! This costume ha been a dream of mine, and I'm so happy I was able to wear it for my senior year Halloween festival. Being able to "be friends" with Rapunzel, saying yellow to the boys and girls who approached me brought such a warm feeling in my heart. Many girls said Rapunzel was their favorite and couldn't believe they were meeting their favorite princess. This is what it's all about, making memories for kiddos to remember forever (or until something new catches their attention. You can't beat them :p ).

So there you have it folks, my early Halloween costume. I still haven't decided what I'll be tomorrow night for Balloween since I'll be at job number one. For now, all I know is that, I've had the best day (night) ever!

Mermaid Visiting Texas

Wednesday, September 30, 2015
Hello mermaids and humans!

I want to share a bit of Disney magic on my blog and what better way to do so than by combining both my love of Disney and theatre in one post!

San Antonio was blessed with the presence of Disney's The Little Mermaid on Broadway visiting for a week! A month before the show opened, I was given tickets to the show as a birthday gift and it couldn't have been more than a dream come true!

Ariel was always my favorite Disney Princess, but with time I've found myself loving other princesses, some more than others. In the end I always come back to my favorite mermaid (with a certain Blondie with loooooooooooong hair coming in a close second).
Ariel and me, Disneyland, Summer 2015 <3

For the show, I knew I had to Disneybound, there just simply wasn't an option in NOT Disneybouding.   I tried to go for a classy, sparkly, mermaid inspired outfit, and in the end I was happy! (Again, I keep forgetting to take full body shots).

I tried to document as much as possible, but emotions can only make you function so much. The Majestic Theatre is a gorgeous theatre with so much history inside. It was obviously the perfect (and only) choice to host an extravaganza Under the Sea.

The evening was a dream come true. I never imagined I'd ever watch The Little Mermaid on a Broadway stage.
🐠🐚 So many dreams were achieved that night. It has been the best belated 21st birthday gift I could of ever dreamed of getting! I laughed, I cried, I fell in love (again), I was hypnotized and mesmerized, and my levels of expectations for life, love, friendship, and family were raised. I'll dream of that night for many nights to come 💙

Alamo City Comic Con 2015

Hi guys and dolls!

Sorry for my long absence. This post has been a work in progress for a while now and I've had other posts ready to go up but one can't progress unless you finish the task at hand (well, maybe that's just me….or I've just been busy….or distracted….or lazy…carry on).

My visit to Alamo City Comic Con, 2015, was a BLAST! OMG! I had no idea what I was missing out on. The people, booths, celebs (well not all but it's understandable), everything was just so much fun.

As promised, I got some shots of my DIY skirts that I made: one Star Wars themed and the other Marvel themed for when we (my brother and I) met Stan Lee (!!!!).
Our Family Portrait along with my Marvel skirt

I have so many pictures with cosplayers that it'll take a whole other post just to show you guys! Let me know if you want any more pictures in the comments and I'll be happy to share :)
Also, I was able to snag up a BB-8 while there!(!!!!!) He's simply the cutest droid in the galaxy (R2-D2 is the sassiest.)
First big purchase on Friday = First big hole in your wallet.

I've decided to not only return next year, but to dress up to get the full experience. I was very fortunate this time to meet so many great artists and celebs like Manu Bennet, Ming Na Wen, Billy Boyd, and Robert Rodriguez. It has been about three weeks since I was there and like a sad little schoolgirl, I still think of my time there.

Until next time!

Pre-Con Gitters

Thursday, September 10, 2015
Hi dolls and guys!

It's been a week since I've began my blog (Happy Weekaversary?) and my mind has been bursting with things to post!

Before I go crazy posting many things (because I just knoooow you're dying to find out what is on my mind) I'm going to spend the weekend blogging, Instagraming, Tweeting, and Tumblr'ing about my first attendance ever to Alamo City Comic Con! That's right! I'll be losing my 'Con Virginity pretty soon (tomorrow actually!) and I'm very excited to attend! If I'm not mistaken, this is San Antonio's third year hosting Alamo City Comic Con, so I'm eager to see what all the 'Con fuss is about.

As much as I would like to dress up, I absolutely have no idea on who to dress up as! I figured since this is my first time at a 'Con in general, I play it safe and wear some traditional get up. My brother insisted we wear T-Shirts from Hot Topic with some comic book related superhero and a Star Wars shirt for the two day. If you know me, you know I would of preferred to dress up as Ariel (my favorite redhead) but since my brother refused for me to dress up as Ariel, you know I couldn't go extremely traditional. I decided to get myself to my nearest JoAnn's and buy myself some Marvel and Star Wars fabric (while using my handy-dandy 40% off newspaper coupon!) and made myself some simple circle skirts.

I don't have any pictures of them yet, but there will be once the day arrives. The first day, Friday, I'll be wearing my Star Wars skirt and the second day I'm planning on wearing my Marvel skirt. Although we got 3-Day passes (it was the same price as buying for two days), it looks like we'll only be attending Friday and Saturday.

Time to go offline. There still some sewing to do along with homework due over the weekend, because...you know....college.

Are you going to Alamo City Comic Con? Be on the lookout for this redhead! What do you do on the days leading up to any 'Con? Any recommendations or tips?

Say my Name, Why my name

Friday, September 4, 2015
Hello! Welcome to my little nook in the vast World Wide Web.

Let me share a bit on who I am and why I chose to name my nook on the Web (my blog), Elly Beth, and it's quite simple: it's my name.

What?

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and my blog name came from separating the name into two names. Weird right? (Or just completely unoriginal, whichever floats your boat). The idea came from the brainstorming of two genius gals (my friend, Jasmine, and myself) during a pizza lunch date. As every first time blogger we struggle with finding what will be a good name for our blog that is catchy, fun, and represents us well. Jasmine decided to break down my name and voila!  Elly Beth was born!

I'm a firm believer of we have two sides (or more) to oneself: the friends side, family side, going out side, professional side, etc. I can be highly exuberant, colorful, stuck on Instagram all day and spend my days laughing and filling my Tumblr and Pinterest's accounts with Disney and Harry Potter, but I can also be serious, professional, behave very adult-y (goes back to posting mature content on my Tumblr and Pinterest. You have been warned...), and just being very mature. I am the embodiment of a child never growing up and of one who grew up too fast.
