Crashes and Concerts

Thursday, September 15, 2016
Hello my beautiful readers!

I hope everyone has been having a bea-U-tiful September! The holidays are definitely in full swing this year for me--especially now that I'm out of university (yay!).

Now the title for this post may be extremely misleading, but let me just say, "I'm fine!" Allow me to explain. Last Saturday, my brother and I were on our way to the Future Now: Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas Concert. Being 5 minutes away from the venue, as we were about to get on our exit, we were hit in the rear by a pick up truck. The impact sent us off the shoulder into a hilly-grassy ditch, narrowly missing a tree and a highway post in the way.

Luckily, we came out with little injuries consisting of heavy soreness and some swelling in my cheek from the breaking. The gentleman in the other vehicle also came out fine, thank goodness. The car on the other hand, well, not so well.

Once PD came and got our info, we had a choice: go home and let this near-death experience bring us down or continue to go to the concert. We chose the later option.

I'm glad we decided to still go to the concert.  Aside from having second row seats, we knew that we couldn't let this bad episode from stopping us living life. My brother and I really felt the need to live life to the fullest. If this was God's way of saying, "Keep going," then by all means, we will keep going. Enjoy some of the hundreds of pictures I took from the concert.

Thank you for reading. Remember, truly do live life to the fullest. You never know if the Exit lane will reach you before you reach it.

xo,
Elizabeth

Orlando Trip, Day One: Magic Kingdom

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

Hello my beautiful readers!!

Long time no read, huh! I know I've been gone for about three months now, and I promise I will catch you all up on why I've been away in a future post.

For my first post back, I decided to write about my first big girl trip without parents to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando(!!!!). This post will focus on Day One: Magic Kingdom.  Side note: Don't you just hate it when you think you took a zillion photos while on a trip but then come back home and think "That's it?"

My best friend, Sam, joined me on this adventure since we would both dream of visiting the parks in Florida. We made sure to always, kinda match throughout our trip and for the first day in our trip, we decided to Disneybound as our favorite princess, Rapunzel.

While at the parks, we met up with my friend, Alysson, who I met on Instagram four years prior. This would be our first time meeting at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

I was most hyped to see the Tangled-inspired rest rooms. I had seen pictures of them all over social media that I couldn't wait to see it for myself.  Here you see a pair of Mouse Ears I did inspired by the Lost Princess herself. (Remember I mentioned I would explain my absence earlier in the post? Well, this crown is part of the hiatus ;) For more, click here to find out more).

Let me just say, the restrooms were *MAGICAL* I didn't want to leave them!

One of the things I loved about  Magic Kingdom is all the castles it has. It really is a Magic Kingdom!!! You can find Cinderella's Castle, Rapunzel's Tower, Beast's Castle (who's photo came out too exposed to post :( ), and Prince Eric'c Castle. Ariel will always be my first favorite princess because a) she's the first and b) ginger. So you can imagine me losing my mind when I saw Prince Eric's Castle!!

"But Daddy I Love Him!"

Beautiful stained glass inside Princess Fairytale Hall.

Festival of Fantasy is the day-time parade Magic Kingdom has which Belle and Beast help kick off. Truly a beautiful and colorful parade!

Do you see Flynn Rider doing that thing with his fingers and his pursed lips?! That's him approving my Rapunzel inspired Mouse Ears! *cue me dying now*

Note for any of you visiting the parks in the future, cheer on the dancers. Please. They perform for us in all types of crazy weather for our entertainment. They are stars!!

I had so much fun for my first visit to Magic Kingdom! It was a super long day but it was all worth it! Thank you to the CM's that provided us with "First Time Visit" buttons, stickers, more time with princess, and for the CM's that allowed us to view Mickey's Electrical Parade in the ~Reserved~ section.

Thank you, Alysson, for showing us the Kingdom you get to play in so much. I honestly cannot wait to visit again in the near future!

Graduation Season

Wednesday, May 11, 2016
Hello friends and neighbors!

It's that season again. You know, the one where millions of gallons of sweat, tears, and blood are shed over paper but then the biggest lift of weight is felt and suddenly you're breathing clearly again? Oh! You've never heard of it? Well let me tell you it's  called Finals and GRADUATION season!

That's right, friends. I've finally graduated from University and have obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from my Hogwarts-look alike school.

I'm not going to lie, this last semester was brutal. For the first time in my life, I hated school, which is sad to me now because I'm a kid that loves school and to learn more. I'm a curious mind! The fact that school had gotten so bad made me not only an emotional wreck but damaged my health quite badly (don't school too hard kids).

It's so weird the idea of not having to go back in August. I've been a student my whole life, going back to back from elementary all the way through university, that now I have no idea what to do with so much free time (maybe I should finish that St. Patrick's costume I started this year). Now that the storm is over it's time to bask in the calm and freedom of being out of school.

Who knows, maybe now I'll have time to travel, finally to all the craft projects I've been "pending," or maybe now I can clean my room and not have art or theater projects on my bed! Haha. I'm hoping with my newly rewarded free time, I can take the time to get to know myself more and take the time as a "self discovery time." I've seen the benefits of being single for about five years now and in all honesty, being in a relationship with myself has led to such an amazing self discovery in my years of maturity. Maybe now I can learn more about myself when it comes to life.

So here's to freedom, self discovery, and beating the statistics by being a Latina woman with a BA, the first in her family! Schools out, let's celebrate. Alright world, it's you and me now.
